New nonpartisan initiative delivers an AI-enabled technology platform to connect citizen priorities, candidate leadership assessment, government accountability and civic engagement.
WASHINGTON - eMusicWire -- The American Public Leadership Foundation (APLF) announced the launch of a nonpartisan AI-enabled civic technology platform designed to strengthen the connection between citizens and government.
APLF is built around a continuous civic feedback model:
LISTEN → EVALUATE → MEASURE → IMPROVE → LISTEN AGAIN
"Voting is fundamental to democracy, but citizen participation shouldn't end on Election Day," said Brian Tomasetti, founder of APLF. "Citizens need better ways to communicate their priorities, better information about candidates and greater transparency into what happens after elections. Government also needs better tools for understanding and engaging the people it serves."
LISTEN — Citizen Priorities
APLF gives citizens opportunities to express priorities across twenty-five major public-policy areas including the economy, education, healthcare, immigration, infrastructure, government accountability, national defense and technology.

Rather than relying only on elections or occasional polling, the platform supports ongoing participation and provides AI-enabled insight into citizen priorities at every level of government, from federal and state to county and local communities.
EVALUATE — Candidate Leadership
APLF's Public Leadership Assessment provides voters with additional information about candidates seeking positions of public trust.
The 300+ question assessment examines leadership competencies including judgment, accountability, integrity, decision-making and responsiveness to constituents.
It does not endorse candidates or evaluate political ideology. Instead, it provides standardized information voters can consider alongside experience, policy positions and public records when making their own decisions.
MEASURE — Government Accountability
After elections, APLF seeks to help citizens understand how closely the actions of elected officials align with priorities expressed by their constituents.
Connecting citizen priorities with government activity can provide greater transparency and help answer a fundamental question:
Are our elected officials aligned with the priorities of the people they represent?

The goal is continuous accountability rather than accountability that appears primarily during election season.
IMPROVE — Civic Engagement
APLF also provides resources to help elected officials, municipalities and public institutions improve citizen engagement.
Its civic engagement guidance focuses on increasing participation, collecting meaningful public input, improving transparency and showing citizens how their feedback was considered.
Government should be able to say:
We asked. You answered. Here is what we heard. Here is what we did. Here is why.
Together, these components create a repeating cycle connecting citizens, candidates and government.
APLF is nonpartisan and open to participation across the political spectrum.
Listen. Evaluate. Measure. Improve. Listen Again.
