Billy Cox and Buddy Miles will be joining their good friend Jimi Hendrix in the R&B HOF. Jimi was inducted as a solo artist in 2016, but in 2019, the power trio goes in as a unit!

DETROIT - April 22, 2019 - eMusicWire -- The National Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame has announced its 2019 class that will be inducted at its 8th annual ceremony. The event will be held at the Charles H. Wright Museum in Detroit, MI on Sunday, June 23rd. Red Carpet/Media begins at 4:00 PM, with the ceremony starting at 5:00 PM.

The Band of Gypsys - Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Miles, and Billy Cox were one of the most influential groups in music.  No group had ever mixed soul, R&B and rock to the extent, where no one genre was dominant over the other. Their only self-titled LP, went Double Platinum and was a hit with Pop/Rock and R&B fans. Many influential musicians, such as, George Clinton/P-Funk, Ernie Isley, Prince, and Lenny Kravitz, have cited the BOG's as a major influence and inspiration.
