Return of the Geetmala Foundation of Michigan concert to Canton
PLYMOUTH, Mich. - eMusicWire -- The Michigan Philharmonic is helping bring back the wonderful sounds of Bollywood music to Canton in June as it participates in a special fundraising Bollywood Symphony Concert.
Planned for Saturday, June 10 the concert is being presented by the Geetmala Foundation of Michigan to support a wide range of humanitarian organizations including MAPI Clinic, Abhi Shah Foundation, MAI Family Services and more. It will be performed at Salem High School's auditorium located at 46181 Joy Rd., Canton beginning at 6:15 p.m..
Besides members of the Philharmonic, led by conductor and music director Nan Washburn, the concert will feature nearly 50 performers from across the United States, including Madhura Datar, a Zee award-winning Bollywood playback singer, and Hrishikesh Ranade, a Sa Re Ga Ma Pa winning Bollywood playback singer. Other national singers include Amol Khanapurkar, Nurani Chandra, Rujuta Joshi, Jay Antani and Dr. Yash Shah.

About the Michigan Philharmonic: Now in its 78th season, the Michigan Philharmonic – (or "Michigan Phil") – is one of the most innovative and dynamic professional orchestras in Southeast Michigan.
