FREDERICK, Md. - eMusicWire -- Classic Albums Live returns to the Weinberg Center for the Arts Friday, November 1, 2024, at 8:00 PM with a performance of Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here. Known for their meticulous recreation of classic rock albums, Classic Albums Live will take audiences on a journey through one of the most iconic albums in rock history.
Tickets start at $30 and may be purchased online at WeinbergCenter.org, by calling the box office at 301-600-2828, or in person at 20 West Patrick Street. Discounts are available for students, children, military, and seniors.
Released in 1975, Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here is a poignant exploration of absence, alienation, and the pressures of fame, written as a tribute to founding member Syd Barrett. The album features classic tracks such as Shine On You Crazy Diamond and the title track Wish You Were Here, which continue to resonate with listeners decades after its release. Classic Albums Live sets itself apart by offering a note-for-note, cut-for-cut performance, recreating every nuance of the original album with incredible precision. Instead of relying on impersonations like traditional tribute shows, Classic Albums Live focuses solely on the music, delivering a high-fidelity experience that appeals to both rock purists and casual fans.
