Third Thursdays the monthly harmolodic jazz series continues with host keyboardist/composer Dave Bryant, and Jerome Deupree (drums), Russ Gershon (sax/flute), J. Johnson (guitar), Rick McLaughlin (bass), Bryan Murphy (trumpet),.Yahuba (percussion).
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - eMusicWire -- Last month, keyboardist and composer Dave Bryant debuted his new monthly harmolodic jazz series, Third Thursdays, within which Bryant invites several of his many near and far musical friends, on a once a month basis, to join him in exploring musical terrain that can best be described as fun challenges.
Bryant already has the kernel of harmolodic sixth sensibility under his belt. Early in his musical career, Bryant studied with harmolodic jazz genius Ornette Coleman, to then be invited to join Coleman and his Prime Time electric free jazz group. As their first keyboard player.

Bryant is eager to keep exploring that particular musical sensibility with others who are game. Last month, Tom Hall (tenor sax), Eric Hofbauer (guitar), Jacob William (bass), and Miki Matsuki (drums) joined Byant to happily "soft" launch the first of the Third Thursdays series. Which proved to be, yes, a very enjoyable challenge.
For May, Bryant has invited players Jerome Deupree (drums). Russ Gershon (sax/flute), J. Johnson (guitar), Rick McLaughlin (bass), Bryan Murphy (trumpet), and Yahuba (percussion), who are all eager to dive right into the unpredictable.
The premise of this new monthly jazz series, along with series updates, can be found at dbryantmusic.com/third-thursdays. All Third Thursdays sessions will be held on a regular monthly basis within the Harvard-Epworth Methodist Church, located a short walking distance from Harvard Square. Audience seating capacity will abide by whatever health and safety protocols are in place on any given month.
