An evening filled with live music performances, documentary films, food and drink.
BATON ROUGE, La. - eMusicWire -- Henry Turner Jr.'s Listening Room is pleased to announce its 11th Anniversary on Thursday, February 13th from 7pm to midnight. The festivities will include a buffet and no host bar, with musical performances by Henry Turner Jr. & the Listening Room All-Stars and screenings of "Music Dreams…An American Story," a documentary about Turner's forty plus year career in the music industry. A new film about the Listening Room will also be debuted. Admission is $25 in advance and $30.00 at the door. The venue is located at 2733 North Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70802.
Henry Turner Jr.'s Listening Room opened on February 13, 2014 as a tribute to famed bluesman Tabby Thomas and is modeled after his club Tabby's Blues Box, which is where Henry cut his chops as a young musician. Kevin "Famous" White and King Solomon played in Tabby's band and now play at the room with Henry and as solo artists.

In 2015 the room moved to the Atrium at the Belle of Baton Rouge Casino. After that contract expired an opportunity arose, in 2016, to take over the original facility and expand the hours of operation to Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Since then it has become the headquarters for Henry Turner Jr.'s Listening Room Museum Foundation a 501 (1) 3 non-profit organization that produces Blues Camp, the annual Listening Room Film Festival and "Henry's Listening Room," a musical variety television show that is currently in world-wide syndication.
The foundation also produces free, live, community based music and food festivals that include the upcoming 12th Annual Baton Rouge Mardi Festival on March 1, the 8th Annual Baton Rouge Soul Food Festival in May, the 2nd Annual (Neighbor) Hood Fest in July and the 9th Annual A Taste of the Deep South in September.
Henry Turner Jr.'s Listening Room has been coined the last blues live music juke joint in Baton Rouge.
