ATLANTA - eMusicWire -- The Islamic Speakers Bureau of Atlanta Leadership Institute (ISBLI), in partnership with Global Education at Kennesaw State University trains and cultivates civic leaders who create positive and constructive changes within communities and add value in the public square.
"The ISBLI Class of 2023 is a group of exceptional emerging leaders who already make a difference in our community," said Soumaya Khalifa, ISB executive director. "By providing them with opportunities to engage with some of Atlanta's most respected leaders, we know that they will gain skills and confidence and will contribute even more to improving our society."
Members of the 2023 ISBLI Cohort are:
At the inaugural session of the 4th ISBLI (https://isbatlanta.org/isbli-overview/) on January 21, 2023, the nine members of the 2023 cohort began the nine-month program by discussing leadership styles. The following sessions include personal and organizational leadership skill-building, communication, advocacy, inclusion and conflict resolution. Each session is facilitated by top non-profit and corporate leaders, with panel discussions and interactive learning. The class will have opportunities to practically apply their new skills through developing and implementing a service project for a community-based organization. ISBLI has developed a partnership with The Giving Kitchen (https://thegivingkitchen.org/) for this year's project. The cohort will collaborate with The Giving Kitchen offering its expertise and new learnings while gaining real-life experience and a deeper understanding of the struggles of many food service workers.
