LONG BEACH, Calif. - eMusicWire -- Long Beach indie rock band, Gully G'z, to release a new four song EP, Attention Shoppers, on December 20, 2024. The band's sound can be best described as indie, post-pop-surf-cow punk, and for fans of Superchunk, Dinosaur Jr., Husker Du, and Pixies.
Gully G'z is a trio from Long Beach, CA, that formed in 2021. Their new EP is a follow up to their first EP, Eliminated, released in the fall of 2021. The band has been busy playing a flurry of shows in 2024 and was able to sneak into the studio sept of 2024 to capture some of their current sounds. The first song, "Lie Awake", is available now on Bandcamp by pre ordering the EP.
"Attention Shoppers is a good snapshot of where we are as a band", says Guitarist and singer, Patrick Goddard. "We've been itching to capture on 'tape' some of our newer songs we've been playing out live this year. We are very happy with the results of this EP"

Recorded Sept 2024 at local Long Beach studio, Dream Machine, by Scott Holmes (owner of studio and front person of local band, Highlands), and mastered by J.P. Bendzinski of Wizard Audio. Attention Shoppers is a mix of themes: Lie Awake is about insomnia, Attention Shoppers is a critique of consumerism, Holler is a treatise on loneliness and isolation. Shut Up and Ride is an homage to skateboarding.
Gully G'z is Julie Goforth on bass, Matt Lucca on drums and Patrick Goddard on guitar and vocals. The band rose out of the ashes of a previous project, Stingray Barbie, which the group picked up the pieces, post-pandemic, to forge ahead with friendship and love of music. They gig frequently around Long Beach and Orange County. Their sound is an eclectic mix of 90's underground indie rock, cow-punk, post-punk, with a liberal dash of mid-80's SST Records influences.
