ATLANTA - eMusicWire -- In a music industry often driven by gatekeeping and commercial compromise, one company is rewriting the rules—and empowering a new generation of independent creators while doing it. Major Act Productions (MAP), founded by music executive and creative entrepreneur Sharon "Sha" Watkins, is quickly emerging as a powerful force in artist development, publishing, and grassroots cultural production.

Born out of both necessity and frustration with exploitative showcase models, MAP was launched in 2019 by Watkins and her husband, rapper Brotherhood Haze. Their mission: to create an artist-first platform where creative control, fair opportunity, and authentic storytelling reign supreme.

Far more than a production company, MAP is a full-scale creative ecosystem. Its offerings range from business formation and artist coaching to publishing, sync licensing, ghostwriting, and visual production. Through its publishing arm, MAP Publishing Inc., the company is providing a rare bridge between indie talent and global music infrastructure.

Watkins, a Texas-born musician with formal training in voice and piano, credits her early foundation in gospel and performance circuits as the catalyst for her career in the business of music. What began as artistic expression has evolved into a strategic mission: to build infrastructure that prioritizes artist ownership, long-term equity, and sustainability in an often extractive industry.

One of MAP's flagship initiatives, Indie Nights, has quickly built a national footprint, spotlighting underground talent from New York to Texas to Washington state. More than a showcase, Indie Nights is a gateway—connecting emerging artists with fans, media, and real industry opportunities. The series has earned accolades for its authenticity, artist integrity, and unmatched grassroots energy.

Backed by the mentorship of industry heavyweight  Corey "Mr. Hanky" Dennard, MAP's momentum continues to build. But for Watkins, this is just the beginning.

Currently studying to become an entertainment attorney, she plans to expand MAP's impact beyond production—offering artists not just exposure, but protection, education, and ownership in an often-predatory industry.

"At its core, MAP was created to fill the gaps the industry has long ignored," says Watkins. "We're building more than a brand—we're building infrastructure for independent excellence."

With its heart rooted in community and its eyes on national expansion, Major Act Productions is poised to become a cultural institution—championing voices, building legacy, and truly putting artists on the MAP, one production at a time.
