World renown pickup designer Carey Nordstrand discusses the state of the business of making music.

REDLANDS, Calif. - eMusicWire -- Carey Nordstrand, the man behind the Nordstrand Audio empire built his business gradually over the past several decades.  Since graduating from Redlands High School in 1989, he has been involved in the music industry in one way or another. Now, his involvement spans several segments: electric pickups, instrument manufacturing, studio recording and performing.

In 2019, he took on a new challenge and entered the restaurant business.  With his business partner Al, Carey opened the Japanese-themed Ramen Song restaurant. Loosely translated, ramen means "pulled noodles," in English. Not surprisingly, the restaurant's location is in downtown Redlands. The building is a former theater, as evidenced by the decorative box office that greets hungry patron.

Recently, Carey sat down to speak about the music-side of his business. Although, as Carey notes, the restaurant hosts live music. Additionally, there are many parallels between the dining experience and performing. Both are art forms when done well.
