PPGJLI Presents 6 with Prestigious President's Volunteer Service Award

ST. PAUL, Minn. - eMusicWire -- Planting People Growing Justice™ Leadership Institute (PPGJLI) will honor six individuals with the nation's prestigious President's Volunteer Service Award. The award is presented in recognition of exceptional volunteer commitment.

Founded by Dr. Artika Tyner, PPGJLI is a nonprofit organization and an official certifying organization for the award. PPGJLI will celebrate the volunteerism of:

• Dan Livengood
• Samuel Maccaulley
• Kathryn Schleich
• Warren Buckhalton, Sr.
• Majeste Phillip
• Ray Wiedmeyer

The volunteerism awards will be presented during PPGJLI's 7th anniversary fundraising celebration. The event takes place on Friday, Oct. 27, 2023, from 8-9 a.m. at the Woman's Club of Minneapolis, located at 410 Oak Grove St. in Minneapolis. Tickets are $30 each and can be purchased online now.

The President's Volunteer Service Award is being presented in recognition of the individuals' service to the community in promoting education, supporting community development, and planting seeds of change through their volunteerism at Planting People Growing Justice Leadership Institute.

The award was founded in 2001 by the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation to honor the positive impact of volunteerism and to inspire others to take action.

Recipients give unselfishly of their time and talent to arrive at solutions to many of the challenges facing the nation in venues large and small.

PPGJLI was launched to empower youth through literacy, leadership, and diverse cultural books. PPGJLI educates through the arts and humanities, workshops and seminars, reading events, and book giveaways. Many activities have been made possible through volunteerism.
