"Third Thursdays" the monthly harmolodic jazz series continues with host keyboardist and composer Dave Bryant, joined by friends Kenny Wessel (guitar), John Lockwood (bass), and Luther Gray (drums).
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - eMusicWire -- Keyboardist and composer Dave Bryant continues his monthly harmolodic jazz series "Third Thursdays", this month being an Ornette Coleman "homecoming" of sorts.
Bryant's fellow Prime Time alum, NYC-based guitarist Kenny Wessel, comes to town, teaming up with Bryant, along with bassist John Lockwood and drummer Luther Gray.
Bryant's "Third Thursdays" monthly series continues to seemingly up the ante of harmolodic expectations. Or let's just say, upping the musical ante of not knowing what to expect until it actually happens. In real time. Inevitably surprising everyone in the room.
Bryant has this to say about July's session: "We're thrilled to be hosting the superb guitarist, and my good friend, Kenny Wessel. We've traveled many miles together, and it's always a blast to reconnect."
For upcoming "Third Thursdays" summer sessions:
-- August 18th, saxophonist Neil Leonard, bassist Bruno Råberg, and Bryant explore electronica.
