Named after Ukrainian nomads, Scythian (sith-ee-yin) has earned a reputation for their thunderous performances and engaging storytelling. Their roots are steeped in diverse influences, with classically trained brothers Alexander (Vocals, Fiddle, Mandolin, Harmonica) and Danylo Fedoryka (Vocals, Guitar, Accordion) drawing inspiration from Ukrainian folk music and bluegrass. Ethan Dean (Vocals, Upright and Electric Bass, Percussion, Guitar) contributes a love of 60s and 70s folk-rock, while Johnny Rees (Vocals, Drums, Percussion), raised in Lafayette, LA, infuses a Cajun backbeat that adds yet another dynamic layer to the band's sound.
