BROOKHAVEN, Miss. - eMusicWire -- Southwest Mississippi artists Cole Powell and Four Way Stop have earned multiple nominations for the 7th annual Josie Music Awards.

An iTunes-charting singer/songwriter and Jayess resident, Powell is up for Jazz/Blues Song of the Year for his single "Not the One to Say (I Told You So)," while Brookhaven-based band Four Way Stop is competing in two different categories: Rock Song of the Year ("Wicked Woman") and Rock Group of the Year.

Under the moniker Southern Gentry Music Review, Powell, wife Brittany D, and Four Way Stop guitarist Kyle Graves have also garnered a nod for Best Holiday Song with the Powell-penned "Christmas Alone."

After taking home EP of the Year last year for his 2019 release Redux II, Powell now tallies a total of four life-time JMA nods, while Four Way Stop celebrates this year's nominations as their first major awards recognition.
