The Spectrum Singers present a "Holiday Concert", under the direction of John W. Ehrlich, w/pianist James Barkovic and organist Heinrich Christensen, performing on St. Mary-St. Catherine of Siena Church's restored Woodberry and Harris organ.
BOSTON - eMusicWire -- The Spectrum Singers, under the direction of John W. Ehrlich, will bring their popular and wide-ranging program of familiar carols and sacred anthems, in both traditional and new ways, with interesting arrangements, both sacred and secular. This "Holiday Concert" is being co-presented by St. Mary-St. Catherine of Siena Church and the Friends of the Charlestown Branch of the Boston Public Library.
The singers will be accompanied by pianist James Barkovic and organist Heinrich Christensen, who will be performing on the Church's restored Woodberry and Harris organ. "Carol of The Bells" and such favorites as "White Christmas" and "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" will ring in the season. More serious repertoire will include an organ solo, and the hymns "O Come All Ye Faithful" and "Hark, The Herald Angles Sing." Anticipation of the Advent season will be raised in reflective works like "A Virgin Unstopped" and "In the Bleak Midwinter." There will be audience participation in hymns.
