AURORA, Colo. - eMusicWire -- RealArtLife LLC, a DEI-focused firm dedicated to building social capital through creative projects, fundraising, and public art curation, is thrilled to announce the unveiling of a groundbreaking new installation by international artist Thomas "Detour" Evans. Known for his vibrant murals and global creative contributions, Detour's latest work, "It's Not What You Take, It's What You Bring Back," will be featured at Denver International Airport (DIA).

His murals can be found around the world, and he has participated in prestigious artist residencies, including La Napoule in France and Panal 360 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. His new installation at DIA is a celebration of life in motion, encapsulating the human experience through travel. Composed entirely of up-cycled luggage donated by Colorado residents, "It's Not What You Take, It's What You Bring Back," is a testament to the personal stories and experiences of travelers. Each piece of luggage in the installation comes with a unique narrative contributed by the donors, making the art deeply personal and interactive.
"The concept behind the piece is to illustrate the items and stories we carry with us throughout our lives," said Evans. "Travel is transformative, and I wanted to create something that honors those journeys, while also celebrating the diverse experiences of people from all walks of life—ranging from astronauts to Tuskegee Airmen."
