The 1st Annual TX PODGALS Experience, will teach women in podcasting how to leverage the proven power and projected continued growth of podcasts. The enlightening & entertaining event will harness the spirit of Women's Small Business Month - recognized nationally in October - while building a robust community of support and equipping women with the know-how to take their podcasts to the next level.
HOUSTON - eMusicWire -- Texas continues to rank among the top states for Women Entrepreneurs. Houston's Alicia Elatassi knows all about what that means on a daily basis. This travel-loving fashionista has done it all; from boutique storefront to real estate investing. Now, she's leaning into her teaching background as professor at University of Houston Downtown and one of the newly appointed directors of University of St. Thomas's Alumni Board. While balancing all of this, Alicia hosts Señora Vibes - a podcast for vibrant, boundary-pushing women who are 40+ and proud to "embrace our Señora era" as Elatassi puts it. Blending her love for teaching and desire for Instagram-worthy events to attend with other bossed-out beauties, Alicia is spearheading the inaugural TX PODGALS Experience held in Houston on October 7th, 2023.

This is clearly the right moment and the winning medium. It's why the group Alicia leads - TX Podcaster Gals - has had steady growth. Reports project that podcast listeners could grow from 75.9 million to over 100 million listeners in the U.S. alone by 2024 (Statista). And, in podcasts as in business, women are proving to be a big driver of that growth. 84% of women monthly podcast listeners also recommend podcasts to others. Those recommendations from friends and family are the biggest chunk, by far, of how podcasts are discovered at almost 75%. And the stats for advertising through podcasts are not only also impressive, but offer a lot of opportunity to women be they small business owners, bloggers, authors, content creators, experts or influencers. Elatassi says, "With coaching and community women can leverage the power of podcasts to share, create opportunity and really level-up."
These are the types of top-of-their-game leaders who'll be sharing their expertise with TX PODGALS Experience attendees. Podcast Coach & Content Strategist Krystal Proffitt will be on hand. She's an award-winning host who has helped hundreds of entrepreneurs start and scale content. The interactive, relationship coaching duo behind YG Collaborations - Yvette Valdenegro and Geovanna Burgess White - will bring their unique and dynamic coaching style to the experience as well. Yvette shared, "Being a part of an event like this, where there is focus on building relationships & community while learning, is part of how we can really support women in a tangible way." With power packed panels paired with shopping from premium vendors, branded photo opps, networking and more... this event boasts a full experience that will equip guests with valuable information & marketing expertise AND energize through creating a sense of community state-wide of women in podcasting who want to see every PODGAL flourish and thrive. Women from all over Texas, and all different backgrounds are encouraged to attend.

Alicia and her event team believe that agreeing on everything isn't necessary to be able to learn something from everyone. All backgrounds, stories, challenges, passions, victories and points of view matter. They're intentionally creating a welcoming space for those who identify as women, and non-binary community members - even while certain voices in Texas speak loudly against certain communities. They are saying to anyone of any age who has a message worth sharing and wants to know how a podcast can help them do that... "Congratulations you've found your tribe."
Several panelists and guest experts will be podcasting LIVE, in front of the audience. The event is hoping to create an impressive reach, utilizing the command of guests' collective audiences. One-on-one mentorship sessions are available for VIP ticket holders. The event is primed to be a rising go-to occurrence in this first iteration and in the years to come.
