Jason Seife and Aadil Abdei are among the prominent artists who will attend the festival.

HOUSTON - eMusicWire -- The Islamic Arts Society announced that several prominent artists will display their work during the 11th annual Islamic Arts Festival at the University of Houston this year. The fantastic line-up of acclaimed artists who are coming to Houston include Jason Seife from Miami, Aadil Abedi from Los Angeles, Meryem Osmangulu, and Ayse Tunc from Philadelphia to our festival.

Jason Seife is an American visual artist and musician, from South Florida. He works in painting, drawing, sculpture, installations and site-specific projects, digital animations, and generative art. In his paintings and objects, Seife's work investigate Middle Eastern heritage and culture through a contemporary approach and investigates Persian carpet designs.

Aadil Abedi is an acclaimed Artist and designer. Contemporary Arabic and Indian influences, alongside rich and vi- brant colours characterize his work. Inspired by typography Aadil uses Arabic calligraphy, Sufism, poetry and religious history as themes to creates original artwork with a contemporary effect, giving ancient traditions a modern twist.

Bringing the biggest names in Islamic art together under one roof will allow the artists to network, collaborate, share ideas, and inspire one another. Famous artists who have attended our programs in the past include Haji Noor Deen, Behnaz Karjoo, Paul Barchilon, Jennifer Usman, Moina Sajjad, Elinor Holland, Josh Berer, Nihad Dukhan, and Muhammad Zaman.

This unique tradition at our Islamic Arts Festival not only fosters a sense of community and provides direction to our artistic community in the USA but also inspires aspiring artists. Islamic Arts Society aims to share the rich heritage of Islamic Arts. The society organizes events to celebrate our culture and promote the positive image of the Muslim community amongst the community at large. Art is a common language and binds diverse communities. By promoting Islamic arts, we hope to promote mutual understanding and to bring the broader American community together.
