JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - eMusicWire -- From June 28 through July 2, 2024, the Jacksonville Children's Chorus (JCC) Touring Choir will travel to New Orleans to participate in the Crescent City Choral Festival. Not only will they perform at the festival but they will also receive instruction from esteemed conductors Cheryl Dupont and Tom Shelton.
This year's summer tour includes a celebration concert at St. Louis Cathedral in Jackson Square, individual concerts, and tours of many cultural sites as part of the Crescent City Choral Festival experience. The singers will experience many sensational sites including the Aquarium of Americas, The Riverwalk, the French Quarter, and other exciting New Orleans attractions.
The JCC Touring Choir singers look forward to traveling each summer and sharing all they have learned over the season with the world. Many of The JCC singers have expressed their firm belief that participation in the choir has permanently enriched their lives as young people. As spirited advocates for choral music, they are grateful to share their love of music and collaborate with other young choir singers.

Katie Altman, Touring Choir singer, has been a part of The JCC for 9 years and in the Touring Choir for 4. Katie especially looks forward to tours each year and loves getting to explore new cultures. In addition to performances, her favorite tours are the festivals because of the chance to sing with kids from all over the world.
"The Jacksonville Children's Chorus has given me countless life-changing experiences and a unique opportunity to make meaningful art with people I adore," says senior Katie Altman. "I have always wanted the chance to explore the rich culture New Orleans has to offer. Thanks to the JCC, I now have the ability to make that dream a reality.
