Floral Sessions with Ovi is a nonprofit art initiative offering non-toxic, step-by-step painting sessions for women who feel stretched thin, emotionally tired, or quietly lost. It's a gentle space to pause, express, and reconnect
FAIR LAWN, N.J. - eMusicWire -- For women who are tired in a way sleep doesn't fix, a new nonprofit art initiative offers a gentle invitation to slow down and reconnect.
Floral Sessions with Ovi is a monthly painting club created by artist and teacher Ovi Paulter for women who are feeling stretched thin, emotionally tired, or quietly lost. Using non-toxic oil paints and guided, step-by-step instruction, each session helps participants pause, express, and return to themselves—no prior experience needed.
What began as a personal path through burnout and depression is now a soft place for others. Paulter picked up painting seven years ago during a hard season and has since built Floral Sessions to support women in the same position she once was.

"This isn't about becoming an artist," Paulter says. "It's about having two hours where nothing is expected of you. A place to breathe and feel again."
Floral Sessions is offered both in-person (free, monthly workshops in Glen Rock, NJ) and online via a 4-lesson course and a monthly club. All options prioritize emotional restoration and creative calm, not performance or perfection.
A 2016 study by Drexel University found that 75% of people experienced a significant drop in cortisol—the body's stress hormone—after just 45 minutes of art-making, regardless of skill. That's the kind of shift Floral Sessions hopes to offer.
