Independent artist Steven Alvarado unveils A.I. Me with the single "Machine" — a haunting AI-assisted track exploring humanity's growing dependence on artificial intelligence.
LONG BEACH, Calif. - eMusicWire -- Independent artist Steven Alvarado unveils his new persona A.I. Me with the release of "Machine", the first single from his forthcoming concept album Dave (out January 16, 2026).
A hypnotic track built from a stark single piano note, drum machine, and AI-assisted composition, "Machine" traces humanity's growing dependence on artificial intelligence — until the line between creator and creation begins to blur. Repetition becomes incantation, driving the song toward its chilling refrain: "What have we done… We built a god."
The track marks the opening crack in the album's narrative, a modern retelling of HAL's unraveling in Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Written with the help of AI tools but lyrically driven by Alvarado, Dave is more than a record — it is a parable for the AI age. An advance review calls it:
"A parable for the AI age: a cycle of hope, dependence, collapse, and silence… unsettling not because of spectacle, but because it feels eerily plausible."
The project's concept stretches beyond the music itself, blurring the line between human and AI. A musical departure for Alvarado's singer-songwriter career, it finds him stepping back from the spotlight. True to the vision, A.I. Me does not exist on social media — only in sound, visuals, and imagination. Even this press release was written by Alvarado's AI publicist.
"Machine" will be available on Spotify, Apple Music, and all major platforms beginning October 24, 2025.
