Tom Hess shows guitar players how to improve their picking technique faster with is new online resource.
CHICAGO - eMusicWire -- In a recently revealed online resource, virtuoso rock guitarist Tom Hess has publically announced his methods for improving guitar picking technique.
In his online guitar resource, Hess discusses the main fundamental reasons why most guitarists are unable to play both fast and clean at the same time.
Hess says, "If you want to play faster on guitar without sacrificing accuracy, you must learn how to eliminate string noise using muting in both hands PLUS focus on greatly improving your two hand synchronization." Hess then goes on to explain several adjustments he has made to his guitar playing which have enabled him to play fast with great accuracy.

He continues: "The first thing you need to do is hold the guitar pick further away from the tip. Too many guitarists begin holding the pick very close to the tip under the assumption that it will help them play faster – but this is not the case. It only makes things worse. Second, you need to put the pick further down into the strings in order to put the pick more into contact with them, getting better tone and louder volume in the process. Third, you need to simply pick with more force. This will increase your articulation and help you identify inconsistencies with your playing when they occur. Finally, you need to combine all these techniques together by using them consistently in everything you do."
