Brooklyn Rapper Spreads More Love Through the Release of His Sophomore LP
BROOKLYN, N.Y. - eMusicWire -- After a decade-long hiatus, Westbay makes his grand return with his sophomore album, Spread More Love. Known for his personal lyrics and insightful bars, the Brooklyn emcee has a lot of life lessons and inspiration to share with his fans—especially those who rocked with his debut, 2014's Spread Love.
For Westbay, returning to music was inevitable. Like any true artist, he could never completely walk away, because he simply has more to say and more to give. In particular, he wants to provide a musical respite for listeners out there who are sick of the bullsh*t we face every day. "My hope is that you'll find something real, maybe some answers," he says. "And that you'll have some fun along the way."
The fun is absolutely there on Spread More Love, and it shows up immediately on the opening track, "Spectacle." Produced by the UK's Ozzie Beats, the song is an absolute banger that sets the tone for the entire affair. It also happens to capture the years-long gap between his two albums, since different parts of the song were recorded nine years apart. That bit of perspective is potent, and it blends perfectly into the Saint James-featuring "Runaway," a chase-your-dreams anthem brimming with positivity. Other highlights include the supremely clever "Gangsta" and aspirational "Clouds," the latter of which features dreamy production from Rhythm J.

As for what's next, Westbay's fans will be glad to know they won't have to wait until 2034 to hear more music from the BK lyricist. "Spread More Love just scratches the surface on this next chapter," he says. "And I'm glad to say that the story continues because the follow-up is already in the works."
Spread More Love is available now through all major digital retailers and streaming platforms via Dope Rush Records.
